Head Brewer
Hop Haus Brewing Company is seeking a Head Brewer to help guide the next chapter of our growth at an important time for both our brewery and the craft beer industry. What began over 10 years ago on a small 3-barrel system has evolved into a full production facility serving our two locations and distribution partners statewide.
We’re looking for someone ready to take ownership of that momentum—someone who understands the moment our industry is in, takes pride in execution, and wants to play a meaningful role in strengthening our position in a competitive market.
Let’s be honest—you already know the duties. Brewing, cleaning, fermentation, safety, the whole deal.
What we’re after is someone who’s passionate about the craft and understands that brewing doesn’t always end exactly at clock-out time. If you see something that needs to be done, you do it. If something’s off, you speak up. You’ll be part of a fun, tight-knit team—but we’re looking for someone who treats brewing as a responsibility, not just a shift.
While we’re best known for our flagship Hashtag Hazy IPA, our portfolio extends well beyond a single brand. We produce a diverse lineup of core beers, rotating seasonal offerings, and a hemp-based sparkling water line—requiring focus, organization, and attention to detail across multiple product types.
Qualities We’re Seeking
Responsible, self-motivated, self-starter who takes ownership of their role
An individual who is accountable, dependable, and open to feedback
Passion for producing consistently great beer—whether brewing our flagship hazy IPA or a one-off release; we expect the same level of commitment and attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly, follow up reliably, problem-solve, and think critically in a production environment
Duties & Responsibilities
·Execute all aspects of beer production, including brewery prep, brewing, cellaring, cleaning, and sanitation
Monitor fermentations, perform dry hopping, yeast management, and quality checks to ensure consistency and beer quality
Perform inventory counts and manage ordering of raw materials and brewing supplies
Maintain accurate brewing and fermentation records (the government wants its tax money after all).
Plan and manage the production schedule in coordination with taproom needs and distribution partners
Reporting Structure & Leadership Expectations
Reports directly to ownership and serves as the day-to-day lead for brewery operations and production
Expected to manage daily decisions independently while understanding when issues require escalation
Prepares for and participates in regular check-ins with the management team
Communicates proactively—bringing potential issues, risks, or delays to management promptly, rather than after the fact
Takes ownership of outcomes, including identifying mistakes, proposing solutions, and implementing corrective actions
Leads by example within the brewery and production team, setting standards for quality, organization, safety, and professionalism
Requirements
Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
Minimum of 2 years experience in a commercial brewing setting
Ability to consistently follow safety protocols and procedures
Physically fit; able to lift 55 lbs, handle 165 lb kegs, push/pull a pallet jack, stand for extended periods and climb stairs
Forklift certification preferred (training available if needed)
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and education
Hourly pay range of $21-25/hour with performance-based pay increase opportunities
Paid time off
Full-time (40 hours/week), first-shift role with a consistent daytime schedule and no regular nights or weekends
Health and dental insurance options
This leadership role has full backing from ownership and the tools to succeed. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates proactively, and takes pride in doing things the right way. If you’re motivated by doing quality work and taking ownership, you’ll thrive here. If you’re just looking to punch the clock, this likely isn’t the right fit. Craft beer isn’t on autopilot anymore. It takes focus, consistency, and people who care. We’re looking for someone who wants to help push back against the status quo, raise the bar, and play a meaningful role in keeping this brewery strong and relevant.
We believe the best leaders know their “why.” If you’re ready to take ownership of a production program and help shape what’s next for Hop Haus, tell us why you’re the right person for the role. Submit your resume and a brief explanation of what motivates you and what you would bring to our brewery.
