Description
Position Scope
The EPG Shop Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment in a controlled shop environment. This includes interpreting OEM service manuals, electrical schematics, and company procedures. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, familiarity with AC/DC circuits, and proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and torque wrenches. Work focuses on accuracy, safety, and efficiency to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on generators, ATS, and related components
Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques
Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records
Adhere to all safety standards and company policies
Strong mechanical aptitude; electrical troubleshooting experience preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must own basic industrial tools (hand tools, torque wrenches, multimeters)
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Professionalism and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualification(s)
Minimum 2 years of experience in generator repair or related field
Technical training or military equivalent preferred
Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Technical training or military equivalent preferred

Pass pre-employment background check, physical exam, and drug screen
Lift up to 50-80 lbs occasionally
Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Work Environment
Primarily shop-based work with occasional field support. Exposure to noise, dust, and industrial equipment. PPE required at all times. Occasional overtime may be necessary.
