Database Developer
Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Database Developer to support the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise database solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with relational and NoSQL database technologies, performing data integration activities, and supporting ongoing system enhancements and performance improvements.The Database Developer will collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and data users to ensure data integrity, system performance, and reliable database operations across multiple environments.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, modify, and maintain relational database objects in third-normal form (3NF).Develop and execute SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and scripts.Utilize SQL and NoSQL interfaces including MS SQL Server Management Studio, Hue/Impala, SQL*Plus, and related database tools.Modify, load, delete, and query data within DataBricks and MS SQL Server environments.Upload and integrate records from flat files, APIs, and cross-database schemas.Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for data-related issues.Conduct database performance tuning and optimization activities to improve query efficiency and system responsiveness.Respond to change requests, system enhancements, and bug fixes in a timely manner.Support database deployments, testing, and migration activities.Collaborate with development and business teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.Maintain technical documentation related to database structures, processes, and procedures.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceU.S CitizenshipThree (3) or more years of experience in: - Creating and modifying relational database objects in third-normal form (3NF) - Utilizing SQL and NoSQL interfaces such as MS SQL Server Management Studio, Hue/Impala, and SQL*Plus - Modifying, loading, deleting, and querying data within DataBricks and MS SQL Server - Uploading records from flat files, APIs, and across database schemas - Conducting database performance tuning - Responding to change requests, enhancements, and bug fixes - Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and data integrity principles - Experience writing complex SQL queries and troubleshooting database issues - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working in enterprise or government environmentsFamiliarity with ETL processes and data integration methodologiesKnowledge of Agile development methodologiesExperience supporting cloud-based data platforms and big data environmentsExposure to version control and change management processesWork EnvironmentMainly remote, with the ability to travel to Washington, DC for quarterly summitsRequires collaboration with geographically dispersed teamsClearance Requirement (Mandatory)Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET government security clearanceEmployment TypeFull-TimeExperience LevelIntermediate
