DevOps Engineer

Job Title: Sr. DevOps Engineer (Compute Platform)Location: Remote Must work on-site 3 days/week if residing within 50 miles of San Ramon, CADuration- 3+ Month ContractScopeWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer – Compute Platforms with 6+ years of experience supporting enterprise compute infrastructure across bare metal, virtualization, private cloud, and Kubernetes environments.The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Linux/Ubuntu, Kubernetes, OpenStack, KVM, and Harvester HCI, along with experience deploying and operating production Kubernetes clusters on bare metal. The engineer will manage large-scale compute environments, including PXE-based provisioning, automated OS imaging, Redfish APIs, firmware updates, patching, and hardware health validation.Strong Infrastructure-as-Code and automation skills using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Git, Python, and Bash are essential. The candidate will build and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment, upgrades, patching, testing, and rollback.Responsibilities include monitoring performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshooting complex issues across hardware, OS, virtualization, OpenStack, and Kubernetes; performing root cause analysis; and participating in on-call support.Experience with Cisco UCS, Dell PowerEdge, Supermicro, HPE, BMaaS, GitOps, and enterprise/private cloud environments is highly desirable. Strong communication, documentation, and change-management skills are required.
