The Loan Specialist will meet with current and prospective customers, explain loan products, gather required documentation, and assist applicants through each step of the loan process. Responsibilities include processing loan applications, performing initial credit reviews within company guidelines, and supporting underwriting decisions. The role also involves maintaining accurate customer records, handling payment processing, and following up with customers regarding account status and repayments. The Loan Specialist will provide courteous customer service, address questions about loans and basic financial options, and support branch goals related to portfolio quality, compliance, and community outreach.Qualifications Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interactions with customers and team members.Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations respectfully and professionally.Foundational knowledge of Finance and Loans, including basic lending concepts, repayment structures, and credit evaluation.Experience or training in Underwriting support, such as reviewing applications, verifying information, and applying lending guidelines.High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.Comfort working with computer-based systems, data entry, and basic office software.Ability to work on-site full time in Mauldin, SC, with reliability, integrity, and strong attention to detail.Previous experience in consumer lending, banking, or financial services is preferred but not required.
