This role is responsible for creating anenvironment with a teaching team that promotes each childs developmentand supports children and their familys diverse needs and interests.At the YMCA, we believe every child is of promise and deserves theopportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. TheTreasure Valley Family YMCAs Child Development programs support childrenin their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the nexteducational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middleschool, or high school.Work Address:**7847 S. Federal Way, Boise, ID 83716. **Responsibilities:** Create an environment that fosters safety through active supervisionand by role modeling safe behavior. Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to buildingrelationships, achievement, and belonging. Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective dailycommunication with participants and parents using the Y voiceattributes. Implement the established curriculum that achieves the five CauseMeasurement goals. Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support childrensappropriate development and behavior. Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families,staff, and volunteers by following and implementing ChildDevelopment Branch approved Leading Practices. Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, andeffective teaching strategies to support each childs uniquebackground, needs and different learning styles.**Qualifications:** Must be 16 years of age or older. Minimum 1 year working with children is preferred. Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all peoplefeel welcome. Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergencysituations.
