This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of our company's operations, culture, and industry while allowing you to contribute meaningfully to various projects and initiatives. This role will report to the Vice President, Grains - Prop Trading.Position ResponsibilitiesConduct research, data analysis, and trade signal generation to search for patterns amongst suggested datasets for use in trading within the agricultural commodities space.Conduct hypothesis generation & analysis.Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects within the department including data collection and API development.Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and solutions.Attend meetings and contribute insights as appropriate.Assist in the creation of reports, presentations, and other materials.Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and proposing actionable solutions.Adapt to new tasks and challenges as they arise.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Programming experience in Python.Working knowledge of data scraping and data science, including machine learning in financial markets.Ability to work independently and explore the fringes of the main task.Previous experience in industry using time series analysis a plus.Ability to handle and interpret large amounts of data.Strong understanding of time series analysis and robust forecasting practices.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Eagerness to learn and contribute to the team.BenefitsHands-on experience in Grains - Prop Trading.Exposure to various aspects of the company's operations.Networking opportunities with professionals in the industry.Mentorship from experienced team member.RequirementsCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Data Science or in a related field with significant quantitative elements is preferred.Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
