Aerospace MRO Technician

Position SummaryAt the direction of the MRO Supervisor, and working as part of a team that includes Engineering and Quality Departments, the MRO Technician is responsible for properly repairing aircraft parts in accordance with specifications. While an experienced MRO Tech would be ideal, this is also a position for which people with strong mechanical aptitude, some background in working with their hands, and an ability to learn, can be trained.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesActively support and participate in continuous improvement activities, team meetings, and holding him/herself accountable for sustaining improvements.Repairs aircraft and bonded structures according to blueprints and specificationsReads and interprets blueprints in order to determine type of repair and tools requiredExamines structure to determine location, nature, and extents of defect or damageManufactures bonded structures in accordance with engineering drawings, process specifications, and planning documents.Fabricates, assembles, reworks and repairs bonded structuresAssembles aircraft parts following blueprints and specifications.Lay-up of composite & metal bond structuresComposite tear down, lay-up, bag & assembly of panelsPart traceabilityKnowledge And Skills Communication, verbal and written (English) Strong aptitude at working with hands, building, repairing, etc.Measure: read scales, calipers and tape measuresOrganizes, plans, prioritizes & completes work on timePaperwork precision and accuracyPower tool proficiency: band saws, drill presses, riveters, pneumatic press, etcHand tool proficiency: drills, routers, manual rivet squeeze, knives, etc.)Read and interpret technical documents (dwgs, specs, M&P etc.)Basic computer skillsMust be able to lift 35 pounds and spend considerable time on feetEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required0 – 5 years experience as MRO mechanicAerospace experience preferred but not requiredLocation Profile: Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Helicomb International is a leading Tier II Supplier specializing in the manufacturing and repair of composite and metal bonded parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies for the global aerospace and defense industries.
