Aluminum Welder (6G MIG)

We're looking for Welders with aluminum welding experience who are excited to grow their careers while supporting critical energy infrastructure projects across the U.S. This hands-on field role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of job sites, including power plants, hydroelectric dams, and large-scale industrial facilities. You'll focus on systems such as Isolated Phase Bus Ducts, Non-Segregated Bus Ducts, and Generator Circuit Breakers, and will be part of a fast-growing team that takes pride in safety, quality, and craftsmanship.Preferred Locations: Ohio, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, MississippiWhat You'll Do:Weld aluminum components in multiple positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead - 6G test required)Read and interpret construction, welding, and electrical drawingsRig, lift, align, and set electrical bus duct equipment based on plans and specificationsDemo, fit, and install new mechanical components as part of system upgradesMaintain tools and welding equipment in a safe, working conditionConduct safety checks and inspections; identify and address wear, defects, and deteriorationOperate electrical testing equipment, including Hi-Pot, Ductor, and MeggerWork effectively alongside field technicians, project teams, and other tradesComplete daily job reports and timesheetsOperate company vehicles and follow RMS Energy's safety and driving policiesFollow strict safety and PPE usage protocols due to noise, electrical hazards, and elevated work areasTake initiative and work independently with minimal supervisionThe Experience We're Looking For:3+ years of aluminum welding experience (MIG required, TIG preferred)Familiarity with medium and high voltage electrical equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and field documentationKnowledge of OSHA safety standards, including PPE use and working at heightsExperience with substation construction or electrical bus installation is preferredProficient in operating forklifts, manlifts, and other field equipmentAdditional Requirements:Willingness to travel up to 75% across the continental U.S.High school diploma or GED requiredValid driver's license with a history of safe and responsible drivingMust pass a background check and drug/alcohol screeningLegally authorized to work in the United StatesAvailable for extended and irregular hours as neededAble to work outdoors in all weather, at heights (100+ ft), in confined spaces, and around high-voltage equipment and heavy machineryPhysically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and enduring extended physical activityRequires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environmentsBonus Points for:Completion of a trade school program, technical college, associate degree, or skilled trade certification in welding or a related field is strongly preferredTWIC CardCDL LicensePrior experience working with Isolated Phase Bus Ducts, Non-Segregated Bus Ducts, and Generator Circuit BreakersWhy Join RMS Energy:We're not just another power services company.
