Program Manager, CNAProvides oversight and administration of clinical course content and instructional activities of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program. Schedules clinical rotations and provides advisement and counseling to CNA students.Essential FunctionsProvides oversight of clinical course content and activities of the CNA ProgramFunctions as the Ohio Department of Health approved Nurse Aid Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) CoordinatorSchedules CNA student clinical rotationsAdvises, counsels, and provides feedback to students on proper documentation and clinical skills techniquesAdministers competency testing to CNA studentsReinforces the instruction provided by faculty by utilizing a variety of learning modalities in the labsManages online record-keeping system, per state requirements, to ensure program and students meet and maintain compliance standards; communicates changes to the state as neededServes as the primary point of contact for the CNA programMaintains and develops current clinical sites while also assisting with seeking and securing new sites for the students and serves as a liaison between the clinical sites and instructorsAssists with the recruitment of candidates for CNA instructorsResponsible for onboarding and orientation of new CNA instructorsDevelops and maintains the CNA class schedules for all campus locationsEffectively interprets state requirements to assist with the program's compliance effortsManages the preparation of records and labs for surveyor site visitsMaintains CNA database within the Ohio Department of Health systemDevelops and maintains departmental spreadsheets and databases to track and report student outcomesWorks with department staff as the NATCEP Program Coordinator to schedule state CNA exam datesProvides a full range of program supportAssists in the development of policies related to the CNA programAssists in recruitment and marketing activities for the program, including attending job and career fairsProvides formal CNA instruction each semester, and covers instructor absences when necessaryAssists with student instruction in various CNA labs as neededParticipates in program and division committees and maintain current and accurate records as neededPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications Education and Experience/TrainingMinimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Current, active, unencumbered/unrestricted RN licenseMinimum of two years (year defined as a minimum of 1,600 hours) of registered nursing (RN) in a skilled nursing facility and/or nursing homeMinimum of two years (year defined as a minimum of 1,600 hours) of registered nursing (RN) of geriatric or chronic care.Demonstrated experience in a long-term care facility, home health agency, hospital providing care to the chronically ill, or other long-term care settingsMinimum of one year of demonstrated experience coordinating and/or managing programMust have a valid driver's license with the ability to regularly travel to and from various clinical sitesMust have an active "Train the Trainer" certificate and have verification of hours taught in an Ohio NATCEP within the prior 24-month period programEligible to teach according to the state of Ohio Department of Health RequirementsDemonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or teamDemonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situationsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesPossess strong organizational and time-management skillsPossess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to promote student successAbility to effectively complete work assignments independentlyPossess working knowledge of CNA concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focusDemonstrated intermediate project management skillsDemonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivityAbility to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projectsAbility to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and qualityAbility to research and analyze issues and develop solutionsWorks independently with accuracy and great attention to detailPossess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of students and the community.Competencies Critical CompetenciesService FocusCommunicationsQuality of WorkVery Important CompetenciesAdaptabilityContinuous ImprovementImportant CompetenciesTime UtilizationCollaborationPreferred QualificationsTwo years of demonstrated experience as NATCEP coordinator and/or managing a CNA program.Currently active ODH NATCEP Train-the-Trainer certificate.Physical Demands/Working ConditionsThe work is performed in a normal, professional office environment.The work area is adequately lit, heated and ventilated.Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.Target Starting Salary Range: $90,000 to $92,000. The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range, but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.Special Instructions to Applicants: During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
