Our talented staff of 650+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions to our clients from our offices throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Alabama.Due to continued growth within MSG’s Civil/Municipal Division, we are seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our Columbus, Ohio team. This role focuses on commercial site development while offering exposure to a wide range of public and private projects including industrial, residential, energy, and water/wastewater developments throughout the Midwest.You’ll work closely with licensed engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from feasibility and permitting through final design and construction documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport licensed engineers in the design and preparation of commercial and site development projectsPrepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction document packagesDevelop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and early-stage planning documentsPerform stormwater modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, and drainage designPrepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for commercial and mixed-use developmentsCoordinate with internal MSG teams including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction ServicesApply agency standards and design criteria to support permitting and project approvalsEngage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvalsSupport projects from conceptual design through construction documentationSkills, Knowledge & ExpertiseBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related fieldEI certification in the State of Ohio required, with ability to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 monthsPractical experience in site development design and plan preparationProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, pipe networks, and plan set developmentExperience applying municipal, county, and state design standards(City of Columbus, surrounding counties, ODOT, etc.)Experience preparing Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports strongly preferredRoadway design and survey experience a plusUtility design or utility field inspection experience a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsComfortable coordinating with reviewing agencies, municipalities, and internal project teamsPay & Benefits401(k) w/ company matchHealth insuranceHealth savings accountVision insuranceDental insuranceFlexible scheduleLife insurancePaid time offReferral programTuition reimbursementIt is the policy of our company to follow equal employment opportunity procedures in compliance with federal, state and local criteria.
