Join our team of seasoned professionals and become a part of the fabric of the New York food scene.Role OverviewThe Pasta Cook is responsible for producing and processing premium-quality pasta in accordance with company standards for safety, quality, and consistency. This position involves operating traditional pasta-making equipment, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency throughout the production process, and supporting the overall success of the Pasta Department through teamwork and attention to detail.Tasks/Responsibilities:Operate and monitor traditional pasta-making and packaging machinery.Ensure the proper setup, operation, and sanitation of all pasta equipment.Oversee daily packaging and production processes to maintain product quality.Recover and handle pasta from the pasteurizer while ensuring food safety standards are met.Conduct regular inspections of pasta quality, consistency, and moisture levels.Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and production schedules accurately.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.Complete required production logs and documentation.Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or product quality issues to the department manager.Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, neatly groomed, and in proper uniform.Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the manager.Minimum Requirements:General knowledge of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Strong communication and teamwork skills.Good organizational and time management abilities.Basic math and measurement skills for recipe and batch adjustments.Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to perform job functions effectively.Additional Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periods of time during production shifts.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment.Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Compliance with all safety and hygiene regulations, including wearing required protective equipment.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in pasta production, bakery, or food manufacturing.Familiarity with traditional pasta-making techniques and equipment.Understanding of ingredient quality control and production efficiency.This position is performed in a food production facility where temperature, humidity, and noise levels may vary.
