This is a high-profile, large-scale professional event requiring attentive personnel to ensure a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for all attendees.Check out our current Event Calendar here: www.5starstaff.com/calendarDescription: Event Security Officers ensure a safe, secure, and professional environment for conference attendees, exhibitors, clients, and staff, while supporting a positive guest experience.Pay Range: Up to $15 per hourKey ResponsibilitiesAccess ControlManage entry and exit points for conference halls, restricted areas, and staff-only zonesVerify badges, credentials, and authorized access Guest & Attendee ScreeningConduct bag checks and screening proceduresEnforce prohibited-item policies in accordance with venue guidelines Customer-Focused Guest ServicesProvide directions for sessions, exhibits, and amenitiesAssist attendees with navigation inside the convention centerMaintain a professional and approachable presence Crowd & Traffic Flow ManagementMonitor and guide pedestrian traffic during peak conference timesKeep walkways, emergency exits, and exhibit areas clearSupport loading dock and vehicle flow where needed Incident Response & Issue ResolutionRespond to attendee concerns calmly and professionallyReport incidents, suspicious activity, or safety concerns promptlyFollow company protocols for documentation and escalation Policy EnforcementEnsure compliance with conference and venue rulesMaintain vigilance in high-traffic and high-value areas Emergency & Safety SupportAssist with evacuations or emergency procedures if necessaryProvide escorts for staff, VIPs, or attendees when required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must also possess the following qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalentAt least 18 years of ageReliable forms of communication and transportationLEVEL 2 SECURITY LICENSE (Level II Training & Exam provided for free. All applicants are required to apply, pass exam, submit to fingerprinting, and criminal background check.) Skills and Abilities: A strong customer-service attitude and professional appearancePossess excellent written and oral communication skillsThe ability to understand and interpret credentials, documents, signs, rules, policies, and instructionsThe ability to communicate effectively with clients, patrons and other employeesThe ability to multi-task, cross-train and learn new skills quicklyThe ability to remain calm and level-headed under high-pressure situations Physical Requirements:Full physical and mental dexterity with the ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, hear, see and speak English clearlyThe ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (shift duration)The ability to lift 25lbs.
