Part-Time Registered Nurse

Fusion Recovery - Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care within an outpatient integrated setting serving individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health and medical conditions. The RN supports patient-centered, trauma-informed care in compliance with OASAS regulations and applicable federal, state, and local standards.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including physical health, substance use history, withdrawal risk, and co-occurring conditionsAdminister medications as prescribed, including MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) such as buprenorphine, methadone (if applicable), and naltrexoneMonitor patient response to treatment, including side effects, adherence, and clinical progressPerform and document vital signs, screenings (e.g., CIWA, COWS), and lab coordinationProvide patient education on medications, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and overall wellnessCollaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, counselors, social workers, case managers) to develop and implement individualized treatment plansParticipate in care coordination, including referrals to medical, psychiatric, and community servicesSupport infection control practices and oversee medical safety protocolsRespond to medical and psychiatric emergencies, including overdose response and crisis interventionMaintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with OASAS and organizational standardsEnsure compliance with confidentiality regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2Participate in quality improvement initiatives and auditsAssist with prior authorizationsQualificationsActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New YorkCurrent CPR/BLS certification (ACLS preferred depending on setting)Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience (experience in substance use, behavioral health, or outpatient settings strongly preferred)Knowledge of addiction medicine, withdrawal management, and harm reduction principlesFamiliarity with OASAS regulations and integrated care models preferred
