Job Title: Safety ProfessionalJob DescriptionResponsible for the implementation, administration, interpretation, and enforcement of safety and environmental requirements. This includes complying with plant, corporate, local, state, and federal regulations. The role involves establishing safety and environmental standards based on risk and hazard analysis to meet regulatory requirements and HSE management systems such as ISO, OSHA, and EPA. Additionally, the position requires reviewing HSE incidents to determine root causes and establishing corrective and preventative actions. Providing technical assistance to various plant staff functions and coordinating plant safety teams are also key responsibilities.Responsibilities+ Ensure compliance routes are completed and updated as necessary.+ Act as a shop floor mentor and interface for HSE topics.+ Facilitate HSE-related communication, including training, safety alerts, and production review meetings.+ Prepare HSE training materials and lead training sessions.+ Lead or participate in incident investigations to facilitate root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.+ Participate in and/or lead plant emergency response teams.+ Conduct hazard assessments of equipment and jobs to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.+ Develop or revise HSE-related policies and procedures for the plant and drive their implementation.+ Lead safety audits of key program areas to ensure compliance with regulatory directives.+ Conduct formal reviews of new equipment, equipment modifications, or process changes.+ Maintain documentation to meet regulatory requirements and directives.+ Provide leadership and guidance to plant safety teams.+ Interact with state and federal agencies and consultants to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.+ Act as a client-facing contact for contractors during equipment installations.Essential Skills+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.+ 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environment.+ Valid Driver's License.+ Proficient computer skills, especially in MS Office.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Knowledge of Safety and Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001, ISO45001).+ Leadership skills.+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.+ Knowledge of Fall Protection and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout).Work EnvironmentThis position is based on-site at two locations: Carolina Logistics Drive, Pineville, North Carolina, and 1980 Indian Creek, Lincolnton, North Carolina. The role offers a long-term opportunity with a large engineering company, which has a backlog of work that will keep safety professionals engaged. The position may require travel throughout the region.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pineville, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.85 - $30.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
