Position: Literacy and Humanities K-8 Curriculum Supervisor
Reports To: Director of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum
Start Date: July 1, 2026 or as negotiated
Compensation: per Collective Bargaining Agreement

Position Summary
The K-8 Literacy and Humanities Curriculum Supervisor is responsible for program improvement, curriculum development, instructional leadership, and high-quality professional development across the subject areas of Language Arts, English, Social Studies, Library Media, and World Language. The Supervisor will also oversee other curricular areas, in conjunction with the K-8 Stem Curriculum Supervisor and Teaching and Learning team as determined by the Superintendent based upon programmatic needs.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or related field of Education.
Master's Degree in Remedial Reading and Language Arts or Sixth Year Certificate in Reading.
Successful comprehensive experience in instructional leadership and coaching, design and implementation of impactful professional development, implementation of strategic curricular improvements based on instructional practices and analysis of student assessment data, and proven track record of supporting and enhancing the instructional expertise of teachers.
Experience in a related area of education may be considered.
Certification
CT certification in Intermediate Administration and Supervision, endorsement code (#092)
and, CT certification in one of the following areas:
Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts, K-12, endorsement code (#102)
Reading and Language Arts Consultant, endorsement code (#097)
