Facilities Engineer

Job Description Provides a full range of advanced professional engineering services in the engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, structural/civil utilities, and/or environmental engineering in support of campus-wide physical plant construction/repair and facilities planning programs. Devises creative and effective solutions to complex engineering problems applying engineering principles, methods, and techniques within a broad area of specialty. Performs and/or oversees integrated engineering planning, design, and development. Provides strategic professional leadership, guidance, technical coordination, and review to engineering consultants and support staff on a project basis, as appropriate to the discipline. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering field preferably mechanical or electrical engineering. Five (5) years experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering discipline. Current Registered Professional Engineer with State of Ohio Board of Engineers and Surveyors or ability to meet Registered Professional Engineer with State of Ohio Board of Engineers certification within six (6) months of hire. Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. Ability to lift ten (10) pounds. Complete work tasks on ladders, steps and like physical work.Responsibilities: - Fabricate, install, and maintain electrical systems in industrial facilities - Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment - Troubleshoot and analyze electrical malfunctions and recommend appropriate solutions - Conduct field service visits to assess and address facility needs - Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction Skills: - Strong knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems - Proficient in analyzing electrical circuits and diagnosing issues - Experience in customer service and providing technical support - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings - Familiarity with industrial electrician practices and safety regulations Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
