Battery Test Engineer
Role : BatteryTestEngineerLocation : Rockford, IL - onsiteJD:Sustenance Engineering/Component Obsolescence Management: Identify replacements for obsolete components, compare specifications against circuit requirements, and prepare feasibility/impact analysis reports. (Opamp and Solenoid driver were Obsolete).Communication Protocols: Hands-on experience with I²C, SPI, SMBus, UART, and other communication interfaces.Statistics and Maths - Creating Excel-based statistical calculators using VBA, advanced formulas for replacing various Minitab in various distributions (Weibul, Johnson, Logistic etc)Mixed signal design - Experience on mixed-signal circuits involving ADCs, DACs, op-amps, sensors, and signal-conditioning filters. Knowledge of signal integrity, noise reduction, grounding strategy, and PCB layout practices for mixed-signal designs.Experience designing and selecting motor driver circuits: DC, BLDC, Stepper motors, Gate drivers, Current sensing and protection circuits.Understanding of solenoid driving techniques-peak-and-hold control, flyback diode selection, PWM control, inrush current management. Familiarity with driver ICs, MOSFET selection, and thermal design.LVDS & Displays: Experience on LVDS-based display interfaces, timing, and electrical performance.Medical standards - Safety, EMI-EMC compliance and troubleshooting.Dry run and feasibility testing. Expertise in usage of oscilloscope, network analyzer etc.Cross-functional discussions (TRB/CCB/CIT), Design reviews (Technical/Final Design) and Risk Reviews (PRR, EBRRBattery Chemistry Expertise: Strong understanding of battery chemistries, charge/discharge behavior, cycle-life performance, and degradation mechanisms.Experience in battery algorithms - Experience with SoC/SoH estimation, compensation methods, cell balancing, and related battery-management algorithms.Battery cycler fixture design - Design electro-mechanical test fixtures and Flex PCBs for battery cycler based on the URS, high-current routing, thermal management, and connector selection
