This position is responsible for all cGMP compliance, FDA audits and improvement of quality systems. Additionally, they are instrumental in determining the direction and strategy, as well as the planning and execution, of the company's overall operations and growth initiatives. The Operations Supervisor oversees the day-to-day activities of Medical Horizons team members and works to provide support and resources needed for the success of the department. The Operations Supervisor is a leadership role expected to develop and support a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with recognized company values and objectives.
Responsibilities
Has ultimate responsibility for cGMP compliance
Participates in the development of continuous improvement plans, including processes and guidelines for efficient and compliant systems and operations
Works effectively with team members in all other areas of the company, including regulatory, purchasing, customer service, shipping, sales, marketing and quality
Builds relationships with external vendors and leverages outside expertise in order to work together effectively on quality issues
Collaborates with various internal teams and external partners, including manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers
Oversees management of MH staff, including but not limited to training and development, performance evaluation and correction, scheduling, time clock management and time card authorization, time off requests, general employee support and similar
Reviews all SOPs regularly according to the schedule dictated by the SOPs and, when necessary, updates all SOPs in a timely manner to ensure they are always current and vali
Manages the disposition of expired products in a manner consistent with current SOPs and cGMP regulations
Oversees the receipt, sampling, inspection and quarantine of all incoming product
Manages the disposition of reviewing and releasing product to inventory in a manner consistent with current SOPs and cGMP regulations
Works with Nutrascriptives Shipping Lead to manage physical inventory of all Nutrascriptives products, White Stock and labels, and assists with destruction of expired or otherwise unusable inventory
Ships bulk products and intermediate goods to manufacturers, vendors and clients
Trains all Medical Horizons employees on SOPs and cGMP guidelines pertinent to their jobs, and retrains employees as required to keep the entire team current with cGMP and SOP standards
Sets up and manages pest control according to SOP requirements and cGMP regulations
Manages all other facility maintenance according to SOP requirements and cGMP regulations
Manages existing relationships with private label clients, identifies and builds relationships with potential new clients of private label program
Provides technical support for Sales, Purchasing and Marketing departments
Manages the development and implementation of Medical Horizons goals, objectives and priorities for each function within the team
Ensures team members have necessary support, tools and resources to successfully perform job duties
Conducts regular one-on-one meetings with each Medical Horizons team member
Sets clear performance expectations for Medical Horizons team members, provides appropriate and timely performance feedback, oversees training initiatives and supports education and development of team members
Provides ongoing assistance to Medical Horizons team, helps resolve day-to-day issues, assists with problem solving, and provides backup coverage as needed
Uses timekeeping and payroll system to manage use of PTO and Sick Leave for Medical Horizons staff consistent with company policy, and reviews and authorizes biweekly payroll
With the assistance of HR, coordinates the screening and selection process for new Medical Horizons openings
Advocates for the needs of the team, acting as liaison to senior management and other departments
Builds positive working relationships and fosters teamwork and collaboration
Cross-trains and maintains proficiency in various job functions of other Medical Horizons team members, and performs these duties as needed when they are on leave or out of the office
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Must be able to read, understand SOPs and all guidelines as they relate to the process
Ability to work in a team environment
Possesses a strong work ethic
Must be able to work in a variety of positions locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reach, and walking, for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to use necessary equipment such as computers, scanners, or other technology devices as assigned
Pay Range: $68,000 - $77,300
