Director of Facilities
You in This Role are an experienced facilities leader who thrives in fast-growth, operationally complex environments and knows how to bring structure, organization, and scalability to rapidly evolving operations. You are equally comfortable leading expansion projects and buildouts as you are walking facilities, solving operational issues in real time, managing vendors, improving preventative maintenance programs, and helping teams stay ahead of growth. You know how to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, communicate proactively, and operate with urgency in environments where priorities can shift quickly. Most importantly, you are a visible leader and strong coach who can develop people, build scalable processes, and help create the operational backbone needed to support a rapidly growing manufacturing organization.A Day in the LifeNo two days will look exactly the same in this role. One morning may involve walking a manufacturing facility to address operational concerns, reviewing preventative maintenance priorities, and coordinating security vendor updates. The afternoon may involve touring a potential new facility, meeting with contractors on a buildout timeline, troubleshooting parking and occupancy challenges, or partnering with HR and Operations on expansion planning.You will regularly:Lead facilities operations across multiple Orlando-area locations Coordinate expansions, buildouts, moves, and space planning Manage landlord, broker, contractor, and vendor relationships Improve facilities processes and preventative maintenance programs Oversee physical security systems, access control, visitor management, and emergency preparedness coordination Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Manufacturing, and Finance Coach and develop the Facilities Manager and broader Facilities team Prioritize and resolve reactive operational issues quickly and effectively Help create scalable systems that support continued company growth This role requires someone who can zoom out strategically while still staying close to day-to-day execution.What You'll DoLead all facilities-related operations across corporate, warehouse, manufacturing, and fulfillment locationsOversee facilities expansion projects, renovations, buildouts, and occupancy planningManage lease coordination activities in partnership with the company's Realtor of recordLead vendor management efforts, including janitorial, maintenance, security, HVAC, electrical, utilities, and construction-related vendorsDevelop scalable preventative maintenance and facilities management processesOversee physical security operations, including badge/access systems, visitor management, and facility security coordinationPartner with leadership on space planning, parking logistics, and future facilities growth needsManage facilities budgets, invoice approvals, and vendor negotiationsSupport emergency preparedness planning and overall facility readinessPartner with HR and Operations on company events, facility logistics, and employee experience initiativesCoordinate move management and new site readiness activitiesEnsure facilities remain safe, functional, organized, and operationally effective as the company scalesDevelop and coach the Facilities Manager while helping build long-term team capabilitiesHelp create accountability, communication, and ownership across facilities operationsWhat You Bring10+ years of facilities leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, distribution, or fast-growth operational environmentsExperience leading facilities operations across multiple sitesStrong construction, expansion, and buildout coordination experienceExperience managing vendors, contractors, landlords, and facility-related partnershipsStrong understanding of:HVAC systemsElectrical systemsWarehouse/manufacturing infrastructureAccess control/security systemsPreventative maintenance programsFire/life safety systemsExperience operating in fast-growth or rapidly changing environmentsStrong organizational and prioritization skillsHigh sense of urgency and operational responsivenessProven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on executionStrong leadership and team development capabilitiesExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to independently prioritize and lead facilities operations with limited directionStrongly PreferredManufacturing and warehouse environment experienceSecurity and safety oversight experienceExperience supporting rapid expansion and multi-site growthStartup or high-growth company experienceExperience scaling facilities infrastructure while processes are still evolvingWhat You'll GainThe opportunity to help shape the infrastructure of a rapidly scaling manufacturing companyA highly visible operational leadership role with meaningful impactThe ability to build systems, processes, and facilities strategy from the ground upA fast-paced environment where decisions move quickly and your work directly affects company growthA collaborative leadership team focused on scaling aggressively and building for the futureCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $135,000-$150,000Equity: 20,000 stock options vesting over 4 yearsMedical, Dental, and Vision Benefits401(k)Unlimited PTOPaid HolidaysDaily Catered LunchesThe PeopleAt Unusual Machines, we are building something ambitious.
