Lathe Machinist, CNC Live Tooling

We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries.We are excited that Janicki's growth requires that we add Lathe Machinists to the team!There is a $2 shift differential for all hours worked on the swing shift and $3 for weekend day shift.Position DescriptionThis position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.The Lathe Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual lathes to machine precision components. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of turning operations, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with a variety of materials, tooling, and finishing processes is essential for success in this position.The following essential job functions are performed as a Machinist - Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL):Attention to detail and quality is requiredReads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings, and work ordersReceives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production LeadsMust be able to understand and comply with Safety PracticesIdentifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job functionSet up scaffolding and safety barriers under directionProperly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activitiesMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition Knowledge and use of common hand toolsAccurate use of precision measuring instruments (ie: micrometers, calipers, etc,) and working to exacting tolerancesMust understand and comply with Safety and 5SMust understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicableWorks in other Cells to support Production as required, ie; Metal Fab or Mill CellCNC Mill and Manual Mill set up, operation and maintenanceCNC Lathe and Manual Lathe set up, operation and maintenanceMill/Lathe Operation, includes Tooling knowledge, Calibrated equipment, machine operation, part loading and clamping, machine maintenanceCNC editing on the shop floorQualificationsThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.Education/ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred1 year of machining experience required Must have effective verbal and written communication skillsAdditional InformationWage range for this role is between $20 - $45 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role.
