ResponsibilitiesImplement feature work in NRC/NTC Android apps from spec to releaseOwn Android-side components of well-scoped features and contribute to larger initiativesWrite clean, idiomatic Kotlin and uphold code quality in reviewsContribute to workout session stack (sensors, background execution, storage, upload)Instrument features for observability and experimentation; learn from production behaviorParticipate in on-call rotation to triage crashes/ANRs and user-reported issuesAdopt Android best practices and platform updates to improve athlete experienceExplore AI-native development practices and internal tooling on the Android team
Key requirements2+ years of professional Android development shipping consumer-facing appsProficiency in Kotlin including Coroutines and FlowFamiliarity with modern Android stack: Jetpack Compose, Hilt/Dagger, Room, WorkManager, NavigationUnderstanding of MVVM or MVI and multi-module codebasesExperience with REST/GraphQL APIs and handling offline/low-bandwidth scenariosExperience writing unit and UI tests (JUnit, Compose UI tests, Espresso)Familiarity with Gradle, CI/CD, and Google Play release processStrong debugging habits: profiling, memory analysis, ANR/crash triageCollaborative mindset; clear communicator in code reviews and docsExperience with Spec Driven Development leveraging LLM coding agents and autonomous build/review loopscollaborative mindsetclear communicatorcuriosity about app behaviorKotlinCoroutines and FlowJetpack Compose
