Project Coordinator - Field Supervisor

The Project Coordinator / Field Technician Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring Thompson Pump & Irrigation projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. This position bridges the gap between the office and the field by coordinating schedules, preparing jobs, supervising technicians, and supporting successful project execution. This role is both hands-on and administrative, requiring strong field knowledge, clear communication, and leadership to keep projects moving smoothly from estimate through completion. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination Coordinate daily and weekly project schedules in collaboration with the Scheduler and Operations team Review estimates, work orders, and job scopes prior to scheduling to ensure accuracy and readiness Confirm all materials, equipment, permits, and subcontractors are secured before job start Monitor project progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, or scope changes Maintain accurate project notes, photos, and documentation in company systems Field Supervision Serve as the primary support contact for field technicians during active jobs Conduct regular site visits for irrigation, pump, pivot, domestic, and ag projects Ensure work is being completed safely, efficiently, and according to Thompson Pump & Irrigation standards Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support in the field as needed Verify job readiness each morning (correct parts, equipment, and crew assignments) Team Leadership & Accountability Support, mentor, and coach field technicians and crew leads Assist with onboarding and training of new technicians Reinforce SOPs, safety practices, and documentation requirements Hold technicians accountable for workmanship, time management, and jobsite professionalism Escalate performance or safety concerns to management when necessary Communication & Customer Experience Act as the communication link between customers, technicians, office staff, and management Address customer questions or concerns during active projects in a professional manner Communicate schedule changes, delays, or scope updates clearly and promptly Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and follow-up items Inventory, Vendors & Subcontractors Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials Confirm subcontractor schedules align with project timelines Monitor material usage and report shortages, backorders, or discrepancies Support accurate job costing by ensuring materials and labor are properly documented Qualifications & Skills Prior experience supervising field crews or coordinating service/construction projects Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong communication skills with customers, technicians, and office staff Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound field decisions Comfortable using scheduling, service, and project management software Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites Preferred Experience Former field technician or crew lead experience Strong understanding of irrigation systems, pumps, wells, pivots, or related field operations Experience in agricultural, irrigation, or pump service industries Familiarity with Central Oregon field conditions and seasonal workloads Working knowledge of safety standards and jobsite best practices Work Environment Combination of office coordination and active field supervision Regular site visits in varied weather and jobsite conditions Full-time position with seasonal workload fluctuations and occasional extended hours. May require late nights and occasional weekends.
