Test Systems Engineer

DescriptionRole OverviewThe Test Systems Engineer is responsible for developing end-to-end manufacturing test systems across the full product lifecycle. This role contributes to Design for Testability (DFT) by partnering with hardware and software teams to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable testing solutions.This position requires strong, hands-on software development experience, including writing, debugging, and maintaining production-quality code.The position involves architecting physical test environments and developing high-performance software for both device-level control and enterprise-level data management.RequirementsResponsibilitiesDesign and develop End-of-Line (EOL) test systems using Python and Rust, interfacing with electronic devices via CAN, LIN, UART, and EthernetWrite, debug, and maintain production-quality code across multiple languages (primarily Python, with exposure to C/C++ and Rust)Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to ensure PCBA testability, including performing schematic reviews in Altium and troubleshooting circuit-level issues during system bring-upDevelop modern, responsive user interfaces using PySide6 (Qt for Python) to support manufacturing technicians with intuitive toolsDesign, build, and maintain backend systems using Rust (Axum framework) and REST APIs to ensure data integrity and traceability of test resultsDebug and support core libraries written in C++ as needed, optimizing system performance and reliabilityProvide production support by troubleshooting End-of-Line software issues, documenting processes, and improving manufacturing station uptimeRequired Qualifications3+ years of hands-on coding experience, including developing and maintaining production-level software (not limited to scripting)3+ Python (advanced proficiency required)3+ of experience in C / C++Rust (strongly preferred)3+ of experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScriptSchematic proficiency (Altium preferred)Experience with communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UART, Ethernet)Basic circuit analysis and debuggingVS CodeGit / GitLabVehicle Spy 3 (preferred)Axum (Rust)Dioxus / TauriQt (PySide6)OAuth, REST APIs, JSON integrationPreferred QualificationsExperience in manufacturing or production test environmentsFamiliarity with automated test systems and hardware/software integrationStrong troubleshooting and cross-functional problem-solving skillsSalary90,000 to 115,000 annually, depending on experience
