Job Title: Application Security Engineer – Data SecurityJob Type: Contract-HYBIRDLocation: Plano, Texas, 75024Job Duration: 6 to 12+ months, extensions possible Pay rate: $62/hr- 65.00 /hr*Only For W2 candidate**Candidates must be local to Plano, TX and comfortable working onsite* Job Description:Our client, a global leader in consumer products and digital transformation, is seeking an Application Security Engineer – Data Security to join their Global Data Security & Protection team within the Cyber Fusion Center.The team needs a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex security problems through code, and can work closely with cross-functional security and engineering teams. Responsibilities:What You Will Be Doing Develop and maintain automation, tooling, and scalable software solutions supporting enterprise data security initiativesBuild security-focused applications using Python, JavaScript, and object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, or C#Support Data Loss Prevention (DLP), cloud data protection, data classification, encryption, access governance, and related cybersecurity initiativesIntegrate APIs and automation tools to collect KPIs/KRIs and improve operational efficiencyWork within CI/CD pipelines and modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)Collaborate with Security Operations, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Privacy, and Platform teams on enterprise-wide initiativesCreate technical documentation, including system design docs, architecture diagrams, and data flowsIdentify vulnerabilities and implement security improvements across enterprise applications and platformsRequirements:4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software development, or computer engineeringStrong programming skills in Python and JavaScriptExperience with DLP, CASB, SASE, DSPM, PAM, or related data security platformsExperience with endpoint security technologies and security-focused developmentHands-on experience with Java, C++, or C#Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPFamiliarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and Docker/containerizationSolid understanding of core security concepts: encryption vs. hashing, authentication vs. authorization, secure secrets management/vaults, salting and weak hashing algorithmsSkills & Experience Exposure to agile software development methodologiesSecurity certifications a plus: Security+, CEH, CISSP, OSCP, CISM, CISA, GPEN, or GWAPTCybersecurity
