This position offers PRN scheduling with no guaranteed hours, typically averaging 8-16 hours biweekly, with additional opportunities to cover sick or vacation shifts across all three shifts.Purpose of Position:The role involves performing limited nursing, environmental, and nutritional tasks to support and maintain the health and well-being of residents in a county home located in the Midwest region of the United States.Essential Functions:Administer and document medication reminders and treatments as prescribed by physicians.Assist residents with special needs and measure vital signs as required.Order medications under the direction of the Care Team Coordinator.Prepare monthly summaries and maintain necessary resident charting.Conduct periodic resident checks and transport residents to medical appointments.Maintain clean living areas and collaborate with staff to provide nutritionally balanced meals and snacks.Non-Essential Functions:Perform cooking duties as needed.Complete other assigned tasks.Maintain daily records of residents' activities and conditions.Education & Qualification Requirements:Preferred certification as a Qualified Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience.Ability to maintain accurate routine records and files related to residents' health needs.Competence in administering medication and simple medical procedures such as taking blood pressure and temperature.Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication.Ability to read and interpret menus and food preparation instructions.Responsibilities:Work involves routine record keeping requiring high accuracy. Medication administration is closely monitored, with strict adherence to physician instructions. Supervisory oversight and cross-checking with physicians or pharmacists ensure safety. Errors could have significant adverse effects on residents.Working Relationships:Collaborate with supervisors, department associates, residents, physicians, and pharmacists to provide comprehensive care and meet residents' needs.Working Conditions & Physical Demands:Work is performed in a home nursing environment with direct physical contact with residents during nursing duties. Some exposure to dirt and grease occurs during environmental and nutritional tasks.Work Shift:4th Shift, scheduled weekly hours vary.
