Summary The Transportation Parts Clerk supports the truck and trailer shop by assisting with daily parts operations, inventory control, and administrative tasks related to parts management. This role is responsible for accurate receiving, issuing, stocking, and tracking of parts within the parts management system. The Parts Clerk works closely with technicians and the ADS Parts Manager to ensure timely availability of parts, maintain inventory accuracy, and support warranty and work order processes. Responsibilities Inventory & Parts Management Receive, inspect, and stock truck and trailer parts in designated inventory locations Maintain organized parts storage areas for safety, efficiency, and compliance Assist with inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories Issue parts to technicians and accurately record all transactions in the parts management system Technician Support Communicate part availability, backorders, and substitutions to technicians and management Review work orders to ensure parts usage is properly documented Support warranty part tracking by identifying, tagging, and staging parts as directed Quality & Compliance Follow Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS) and company best practices Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality Demonstrate our company's Core and Growth Values in all interactions Participate in training, safety meetings, and departmental meetings Additional Responsibilities Assist with special projects, audits, and other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager or leadership Qualifications required High School Diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years of experience in parts, warehouse, or inventory role preferred Experience in truck, automotive, or maintenance environment a plus No certifications required Additional Qualifications, preferred: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping Basic knowledge of inventory or parts tracking systems Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Effective communication skills with technicians, supervisors, and vendors Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions Customer-service mindset with professionalism and respect Team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn parts management and warranty processes Work Environment This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
