The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the supervision of a physician in the Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro Interventional Radiology services. This includes procedures such as extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. The role serves a diverse group of customers, including healthcare employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies, with a strong emphasis on customer service.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support for all interventional radiology (IR) and neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.Assist in both sterile and non-sterile neurointerventional procedures, such as tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.Operate advanced imaging equipment while adhering to established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and neurointerventional patient procedures.Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices related to radiation safety.Instruct students and residents, fulfilling preceptor duties as necessary.Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.Assist in the maintenance of supply inventory for all IR and neuro IR procedures.Utilize information systems for IR scheduling and management.Review coding procedures to ensure accurate billing of all neuro IR and IR procedures.Engage in continuous learning through lectures, seminars, and educational materials to master new techniques and technologies.Adhere to accepted clinical principles, methods, and procedures while supervising all interventional diagnostic procedures.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies regarding incident reporting.Perform other related duties as required.Required Skills & ExperienceAttention to DetailCollaborationContinuous LearningInitiativeJudgment/Critical ThinkingProblem SolvingQualityReliabilityTechnical ExpertiseEducation and Certification Requirements
Required Education:Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology.Required Certifications & Licensure:New York State license as Radiologic Technologist.ARRT(R).BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).Scheduling Notes
