Databricks AI/ML Engineer

***US Citizenship Required***Position OverviewBuild rapid, working AI prototypes that demonstrate value on client data within Databricks. The priority is lightweight, fast-moving agent and Generative AI solutions, primarily using Agent Bricks, while also leveraging MCPs, the Databricks Agentic Framework, and other emerging AI capabilities. Key Responsibilities - Build agent prototypes on Databricks using Agent Bricks that solve concrete business and mission workflow problems and can be demonstrated quickly. - Scope lightweight, decentralized AI use cases with government stakeholders and program teams, favoring quick wins over long modeling cycles. - Ground agents in governed data products from Unity Catalog in close collaboration with data engineers. - Surface agent capabilities through Databricks Apps front ends and APIs consumed by application development teams. - Develop and deploy GenAI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and intelligent workflow solutions. - Collaborate across engineering and business teams to rapidly prototype and operationalize AI capabilities. Required Qualifications - U.S. Citizen - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government suitability determination - Hands-on AI/ML or applied Generative AI engineering experience - Strong Python development skills - Hands-on experience with Agent Bricks or comparable agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph) - Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, MLflow, and Databricks Model Serving - Knowledge of Databricks AI SQL queries and prompt engineering techniques - Experience building and deploying AI solutions in production environments Preferred Qualifications - Active Public Trust or other federal security clearance - Databricks Machine Learning or Generative AI certification - Experience with Genie, Mosaic AI, and Databricks Apps for delivering AI capabilities to end users - Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government clients - Experience working with enterprise-scale data and AI platforms Location - Fully remote within the United States - Analyst, Consultant, and Senior Consultant levels available
