Maintenance Technician - Hampton Inn -Auburn, AL

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the guest rooms, public space, and back of the house areas in good repair. A Maintenance Technician is competent in various trades including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering, and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards. Job Requirements: Complete all required training Adhere to all standard operating procedures and property specific brand standards Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures Repair or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items Maintain a record of repairs performed, repairs calendared and pending, and repairs needing evaluation Inspect guestrooms, public space and back of the house to evaluate for areas to repair, touch up or replace Assist other department team members in the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program Have basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel facilities and equipment Have working knowledge of basic hand and power tools Is responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow employees and hotel assets in conjunction with hotel management Will keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc. Necessary Skills: Able to communicate effectively in writing, by telephone and in person Able to report to scheduled shifts Able to work a flexible schedule. We are a 24/7 business which may require work availability of nights, weekends, and holidays Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person Able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds Is organized, honest, and works well with others Can provide personalized, friendly service to every guest and associate Physical Requirements: Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds Can perform work for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours Must be able to handle heat and stress Able to work in varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, etc. Have finger dexterity for operating equipment Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English Must be able to write What we offer: We offer our work family competitive pay, paid time off, and holiday pay.
