Senior Manager of Mergers & Acquisitions Tax

KPMG is currently seeking a skilled Senior Manager to strengthen our Mergers & Acquisitions practice. Responsibilities:Lead teams in strategizing, executing, and delivering M&A tax consulting projects, which encompass ownership change analyses, tax basis calculations, earnings and profits studies, and group restructurings. Provide expert guidance on federal income tax implications for various corporate and shareholder transactions, with a focus on consolidated return regulations. Conduct thorough research and analysis on corporate tax matters, drafting detailed written tax advice, including memoranda and opinion letters. Collaborate with leadership to enhance service offerings and improve best practices. Train and mentor staff at all levels on current and evolving tax laws, engagement processes, and risk management strategies. Partner with M&A Tax leadership to implement strategies focused on sustainable growth and success. Additional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:Identify and cultivate new opportunities to expand the KPMG Tax practice. Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, acting as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications:A minimum of five years of experience in federal corporate tax within a Big 4 firm, emphasizing section 382 ownership change analyses and tax basis in consolidated subsidiary stock. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Must possess a CPA, EA, or JD/LLM, with the commitment to obtain one of KPMG's approved credentials within one year of hire. Extensive knowledge of subchapter C, bankruptcy tax, and consolidated return regulations. Strong leadership and project management skills, adept at handling multiple projects and client teams effectively. Exceptional research, writing, and computational analysis skills. Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager:Eight years of relevant experience in federal corporate tax and consolidated returns from a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm. Proven ability to build and nurture strong client relationships.
