Chatbot Developer – Conversational AIAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a Chatbot Developer – Conversational AI to help build, enhance, and evolve enterprise conversational experiences across web, mobile, and messaging channels.In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of traditional NLU, Generative AI, and agentic AI, maintaining existing chatbot capabilities while helping drive the organization’s transition to next-generation AI agents. You’ll combine strong software engineering and Microsoft conversational technology expertise with enterprise integration skills to deliver secure, scalable, and intuitive digital experiences.You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate complex business processes into conversational experiences that are both effective and easy to use.What You’ll DoConversational AI DevelopmentDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable chatbots, virtual assistants, and AI agents across their full lifecycle.Develop conversational flows, dialog management, integrations, and supporting services for enterprise applications.Maintain and enhance existing chatbot implementations while introducing modern Generative AI capabilities.AI Architecture & ModernizationMaintain and optimize solutions built on the Azure Bot Framework SDK v4, including dialogs, middleware, state management, and integrations.Support the organization’s transition from traditional bot architectures toward Microsoft Foundry and Agents 365/Azure SDK capabilities.Evaluate and implement hybrid AI approaches that combine deterministic NLU with LLM-powered experiences.Enterprise Systems IntegrationDesign and develop APIs and integration services using MuleSoft as the enterprise integration layer.Integrate conversational applications with enterprise platforms including PeopleSoft and Salesforce.Build reliable data exchange and orchestration between conversational interfaces and backend systems.Omnichannel ExperiencesDevelop dynamic conversational interfaces using Adaptive Cards, knowledge management capabilities, and automation flows.Support conversational experiences across web, mobile, and messaging channels.Create reusable components and conversational patterns that provide a consistent user experience.Live Chat & Case ManagementDevelop conversational escalation and human-agent handoff capabilities.Integrate chatbots with Salesforce Live Chat and Salesforce Case Management APIs.Automate ticket creation, routing, and transfer of relevant conversational context to live support teams.NLU & Generative AIIntegrate Azure Conversational Language Understanding (CLU) with Azure OpenAI/GPT capabilities.Develop intelligent intent routing, fallback strategies, contextual responses, and LLM-powered content generation.Design safeguards and orchestration patterns that improve response accuracy, reliability, and transparency while minimizing hallucinations.Analytics & Continuous ImprovementAnalyze conversation logs, intent accuracy, containment rates, user drop-off, and other performance metrics.Use tools such as Power BI and Azure Application Insights to identify opportunities for improving conversational flows and user outcomes.Develop data-driven strategies to continuously improve chatbot performance and engagement.CollaborationPartner with Product Managers, UX Designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define requirements and user stories.Translate complex business processes and technical constraints into intuitive conversational experiences.Communicate AI capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.What You’ll BringRequired Qualifications3+ years of software development experience, with a focus on Conversational AI, NLP/NLU, chatbots, virtual assistants, or LLM/agent development.Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure Bot Framework SDK v4, including dialogs, custom middleware, state management, and bot architecture.Experience with or strong working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and/or Agents 365/Azure SDK.Strong programming skills in C# and .NET, with proficiency in JavaScript.Experience with HTML/CSS for custom web-chat interfaces and Adaptive Card rendering.Experience integrating conversational applications with enterprise systems and APIs.Hands-on experience with MuleSoft or similar enterprise integration platforms.Experience integrating with enterprise applications such as Salesforce and PeopleSoft.Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, data exchange, and enterprise application integration.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Azure Cosmos DB for conversation state, user context, application data, or telemetry.Experience with Power BI and/or Azure Application Insights for conversational analytics and application monitoring.Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for conversational applications and AI assets.Knowledge of LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic workflows, and AI guardrails.Experience with automated testing and quality assurance for conversational applications.Experience working in higher education or other complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise environments.Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.Why Join Us?Build the Future
