You will develop automated, mechatronic-centric manufacturing tests and diagnostic software that assures the calibration, performance, and safety of robot subsystems. The position will require close collaboration with product development teams, systems analysts, electrical test fixture engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and contract manufacturers to build a comprehensive test strategy and deliver automated manufacturing test software.Essential Job DutiesTake ownership of manufacturing test fixtures, software, and test system qualityDevelop a deep technical understanding of product operation, control and testing algorithmsDesign, document, and qualify systems and test software for use in manufacturing new robot subsystemsWork independently to overcome roadblocks with minimum guidanceTroubleshoot production line issuesImprove the manufacturing test capability through new technology, software and analyticsQualificationsRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum 5 years of professional experience in hardware-oriented software development with a bachelor’s degree (or 3 years with a master’s degree)Experience developing or testing robotic or electro-mechanical systems, including control systems and mechatronicsExperience with design and development of Windows PC or Web user interfacesProficient in object-oriented PythonEntrepreneurial spiritDrives projects to completionStrong problem solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsIntellectually curious and passionateHigh emotional intelligence and solid people skillsRequired Education And TrainingBachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Software Engineering or related programWorking Conditions NonePreferred Skills And ExperienceWeb technologies such as HTML, Javascript, RESTful APIs, JSON, SocketsFamiliarity with Matlab, SQL database, Linux-based Operating SystemsAutomated product or software testingExperience in medical device manufacturing or regulated engineering environmentExperience working in a product manufacturing environmentQuality Systems experience, preferably in a medical device environment.Ability to travel nationally and internationally.Additional InformationDue to the nature of our business and the role, please note that Intuitive and/or your customer(s) may require that you show current proof of vaccination against certain diseases including COVID-19. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.Base Salary Range Region 1:$158,300 - $227,700Base Salary Range Region 2: $134,600 - $193,500Shift: DayWorkplace Type: Onsite - This job is fully onsite.
