Adjunct Faculty - Computer Information Technology

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.Major Responsibilities: Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives by conducting the following:Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Department Chair for the School of Information TechnologySUPERVISION GIVEN: NoneMinimum Qualifications:A qualified faculty member in computer information systems is one who:Possesses an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science or a computer-related degree as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught;ORPossesses a related or out-of-field master's degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses in a computer, business, mathematics, or engineering-related field as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught beyond the introductory principle(s) level;ORPossesses a bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, or business/computer related field from a regionally accredited institution as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught with documentation in two or more areas of:Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the fieldTwo years of in-field professional employmentDocumented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of awardDocumentation of research and publication in the fieldDocumented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, vendor, or military.Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.Preferred Qualifications:Two years of in-field professional experience with Amazon AWS or Microsoft AzureWorking knowledge of Linux operating system.Current CompTIA A+, Net+, or Sec+ certificationExtensive knowledge of virtualizationOther Requirements:Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.Please attach a copy of your Resume, Cover Letter, and an Unofficial copy of your Collegiate Transcripts.
