Food Runners are responsible for delivering food to guests, maintaining cleanliness of all public areas, and supporting servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations. This role requires attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to handle various tasks throughout the day from opening to closing.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFood Service & Guest RelationsDeliver food to tables promptly and accurately using proper tray techniquesCollaborate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate service flowRefill water glasses and respond to guest requests politely and efficientlyInteract with guests positively and maintain composure in all circumstancesMaintain menu knowledge to answer guest questions and provide recommendations Table Management & Setup Clear and reset tables promptly after guests finish diningSet up tables to specification and maintain proper presentationMaintain organized service stations with adequate linens, silverware, and glasswareInform management of any quality standard deviations Cleaning & Sanitation Comply with restaurant and Department of Health sanitation standardsKeep work areas clean and address spills or debris promptlyPerform daily cleaning and sanitation tasks as directedDispose of trash and cardboard from kitchen and service areasSet up and break down stations; complete closing cleaning tasks Team Collaboration Communicate professionally with kitchen team and all staffAssist coworkers as needed and work collaborativelyClear tables when prompted by servers or bartendersAttend work on time in proper attire Minimum Qualifications Ability to perform essential job functions when working in a high business volume, fast-paced environmentAbility to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functionsAble to lift 30+ lbs.Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the businessFluent in both written and spoken EnglishMust love sunsetsWillingness to work in outdoor climate conditions Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of th is position.
