This role combines traditional carpentry skills with metal fabrication and welding capabilities to support structural installations, equipment supports, and specialty construction components while maintaining union safety and quality standards.Responsibilities:Construct, install, and repair building frameworks including walls, floors, ceilings, and structural supportsRead and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specificationsPerform layout, measurement, and cutting of wood, metal, and composite materialsWeld structural and non-structural metal components using appropriate welding techniques (MIG, TIG, or Stick as required)Fabricate and install steel supports, brackets, and custom metal componentsInstall doors, windows, drywall, cabinetry, and other finish carpentry elements when requiredOperate and maintain carpentry and welding tools and equipment safelyCollaborate with other trades and supervisors to ensure projects meet timelines and specificationsFollow safety regulations, and OSHA guidelinesMaintain a clean and organized job siteQualifications:Proven experience in commercial or industrial carpentryWelding experience with common construction welding methods (MIG, TIG, Stick)Ability to read blueprints and technical drawingsStrong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and safety practicesAbility to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform physically demanding workWelding certifications preferred but not always required depending on projectE&K is proud to be an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, E-Verify, and Drug Free Employer.
