Description & Details:Adams County Aging in Community Program CoordinatorPosition InformationThe Program Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the Aging in Community (AIC) program. The purpose of the AIC program is to coordinate support and resources to improve the quality of life for older adults who wish to stay in their homes, along with their caregivers. The coordinator will be a member of an NDSU Extension team responsible for providing leadership to implement this innovative grant-funded program by working with community stakeholders to identify creative solutions to rural aging issues. This is a 3-year grant-funded program (July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028).This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:Provide overall leadership and administration on the Aging in Community programWork closely with the local Steering Committee and community partners to successfully respond to local needs by developing and offering support and services for older residentsProvide programming including education, social engagement, meeting individual needs for older adults and other prioritized needsPromote the AIC program to area residents, groups, and agencies, and organizationsDevelop and coordinate a marketing/outreach strategy (website, social media, newsletter)Assist with local fundraising effortsDevelop, coordinate and facilitate a volunteer programMonitor, track and record program activitiesAssist in carrying out program evaluation tasksProvide transportation in some specific situationsSome weekend and evening work is required.Travel within and outside the service area is required.Overnight trips are required on occasion for meetings and professional development.Minimum Qualifications:
BA or BS in Business, Human Services, Education, Administration, Health or related fieldStrong leadership, administration and organizational skillsUnderstanding of rural life and the challenges faced by older adults living in rural communitiesEffective written and oral communication skills with the ability to address and engage audiencesSensitive in working with program clientsInterpersonal skills in working with steering committee, staff, donors, funders and clientsStrong problem-solving skillsBasic computer skills and willingness to learn new programs (Microsoft office, program management software, social media, etc.)Preferred Qualifications:Experience in leadership, administration and developmentExperience in working with older adultsExperience in managing grantsExperience in supervising staff and volunteersExperience with fundraising activities and eventsPosition:.6 FTESalary:Commensurate with qualification and experiencesBenefitsinclude retirement plan and full coverage for family health insuranceLocation:Adams County AIC OfficeTo Apply:Please include Resume and Cover LetterScreening will begin: 3/17/28
