Lead System Engineer

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operational support of enterprise-scale monitoring and observability solutions for cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure. This role will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers while partnering closely with government customers and internal stakeholders to deliver highly reliable, secure, and scalable monitoring solutions.The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, APM tools, synthetic monitoring, performance engineering, and incident response. This role is critical in ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems operating in cloud environments.Experience8+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in:Application Performance Management (APM)Cloud Monitoring & ObservabilityPerformance EngineeringProduction Support / Reliability EngineeringTechnical SkillsStrong hands-on expertise with:Splunk Enterprise / Splunk ObservabilityAWS CloudWatchAzure MonitorDynatrace / AppDynamics / New Relic / similar APM toolsExperience with synthetic transaction monitoring and alerting.Strong knowledge of Java/JVM performance tuning.Scripting experience using Shell, PowerShell, Python, Regex.Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure, networking, and cloud operations.Certifications (Preferred)Splunk CertificationsAWS Certified Solutions Architect / SysOps / DevOpsAzure Monitoring / Administrator CertificationsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting government or federal environments (USPTO preferred).Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.Proven leadership managing engineering teams.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
