Apprentice Engineer

Apprentice EngineerWe are seeking a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Engineer to support the daily operations of an 11-story commercial high-rise building. This position works closely with the Chief Engineer and Journeyman Engineer to ensure all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.The ideal candidate is eager to grow within commercial building operations and develop advanced engineering skills while gaining practical, hands-on experience.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the day-to-day maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/R systemsPerform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on building equipmentMonitor and ensure proper daily operation of HVAC/R systemsReplace air filters, adjust and replace belts, lubricate bearings, and repair motors and capacitorsClean cooling towers and punch/clean chiller tubesConduct water treatment testing and evaluationsService restroom plumbing systems, including snaking and augering drainsGenerate and rekey building keys using the Schlage key systemComplete minor drywall repairs and paintingCommunicate equipment issues and operational concerns to the Chief EngineerMaintain a clean and safe working environmentQualificationsEPA 608 Universal Certification (required)Working knowledge of HVAC/R systemsExperience with Energy Management Systems (EMS)Basic plumbing and carpentry skillsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyBasic computer proficiencyPreferred ExperienceExperience in commercial high-rise building operationsExposure to preventive maintenance programsFamiliarity with cooling towers, chillers, and water treatment processesWhat We OfferHands-on training and mentorshipGrowth opportunities within building engineeringProfessional development in commercial facility operationsCompetitive compensation and benefitsAbout UG2:At UG2, a leader in facility services, we are committed to innovation, excellence, and client satisfaction.
