Radio Frequency Engineer
The Opportunity: Powering the StratosphereWe’re building the next generation of stratospheric connectivity and sensing platforms. Our high-altitude platform systems (HAPS) operate at 18–21 km in the stratosphere, delivering communications, imaging, and remote sensing capabilities that are faster to deploy and far more cost-effective than traditional infrastructure. From enabling telecommunications connectivity and disaster response to supporting Earth observation and defense applications, our mission-driven team is pushing aerospace innovation to the edge of space. Now we’re looking for a talented RF Engineer to join us. What You’ll DoAs an RF Engineer, you will design and develop critical radio frequency systems that power communication capabilities for our stratospheric aerospace platforms. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity in near-space environments. Key responsibilities include: Designing and optimizing RF systems including transmitters, receivers, antennas, and RF front-end components Developing RF architectures for airborne and stratospheric communication platforms Performing RF modeling, simulation, and link budget analysis Conducting lab and field testing, including RF performance characterization and troubleshooting Supporting system integration with avionics, power, and software teams Addressing EMI/EMC challenges and ensuring regulatory compliance Participating in design reviews and improving overall RF system performance What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field 5+ years of RF engineering or communications systems experience Strong knowledge of RF propagation, modulation, filtering, and noise analysis Experience with RF simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS, MATLAB, etc.) Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators) Experience with antenna systems and RF troubleshooting Nice to Have Aerospace, satellite, UAV, or high-altitude platform experience Cellular, broadband, or long-range wireless communications knowledge EMI/EMC testing and spectrum regulatory experience
