Underwriting Processor (Entry-Level)

About the role:Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland is the leading provider of medical professional liability insurance for Maryland Physicians. We are seeking an entry-level Underwriting Processor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with strong personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to overall mission of the Company.Essential Functions:The Underwriting Processor supports the Underwriting department by amending policies and contract and performs the following tasks:Processing new business and policy maintenance as directed.Reviews policy maintenance forms and make corrections as neededProcess certified mailingsMaintain the producer of record process.Print, review, and mail forms related to new business, renewal policies and policy maintenance.Test, prepare and mail the bi-yearly reapplication mailings.Maintain facility contact information by speaking with credentialing representativesRespond to phone calls and emails, from policyholders and producers.Communicate/interact with other departments as required. (e.g. Accounting, Marketing, Risk Management, etc.)Provides internal systems testing for rate and program changes as directed.Knowledge of underwriting proceduresOther ResponsibilitiesPerform related duties as assigned.Maintain compliance with all Company policies and procedures.Back-up for administrative and receptionist duties.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements/Attributes: High school diploma required.Ability to work accurately under time constraints and meet deadlinesExcellent verbal, written and presentation skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.This is a full-time position based out of our Hunt Valley, Maryland office. We offer a hybrid remote/in-person work schedule.
