HR Generalist (Standalone / Sole HR Practitioner)
Description:Position Summary
We are seeking a highly self-sufficient and proactive HR Generalist to serve as the sole HR professional within our organization. This role is responsible for managing the full spectrum of human resources functions, with a strong emphasis on full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition. The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful, and experienced in using Paylocity to support HR operations, payroll, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting (Primary Focus)
Manage full-cycle recruiting: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies
Create and post job descriptions across multiple platforms using Paylocity and JobTarget
Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs
Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process
Track recruiting metrics and optimize hiring processes
HR Operations & Administration
Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters
Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs
Manage onboarding and outboarding processes
Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality
Payroll, HRIS & Paylocity Management
Administer payroll and benefits using Paylocity and Employee Navigator
Maintain and optimize HRIS data, reporting, and workflows within Paylocity
Generate reports and provide insights on workforce metrics
Troubleshoot system issues and act as internal Paylocity expert
Compliance & Policy Management
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
Update and maintain employee handbook and HR policies
Support audits and ensure proper documentation
Additional HR Functions
Support performance management processes
Coordinate training and development initiatives as needed
Assist leadership with organizational planning and HR strategyRequirements:
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a standalone or small-company environment
Strong experience in full-cycle recruiting
Hands-on experience with Paylocity
Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building HR processes from the ground up
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
Experience in a fast-paced or growing company
Compensation details:56000-60000 Yearly Salary
