This position involves physical building with team members and supervision.We usually have 3 to 5 projects in production at any given time. Our work is focused exclusively in the East Bay area, spanning from Oakland and Piedmont to El Cerrito. The ideal candidate should be capable of managing and leading their own projects while also overseeing others.Responsibilities:Interact with the Design Team and assist with estimatingAssist with pre-construction preparationsCreate project schedules and production goalsSupervise and help coordinate the work of the Lead Carpenters and Carpenters.Schedule, supervise, and coordinate subcontractorsUnderstand the scope of work and budget for each projectEnsure the job is on schedule and within budgetEnsure that the finished project meets the company's high standards for quality and workmanshipInteract with clients and address any concerns they may haveRecognize and execute change orders when necessaryFollow and enforce company policies and proceduresWork independently with minimum direct supervision and as part of a teamRequirements:Minimum 10 years of residential remodeling carpenter experienceMinimum 5 years of Lead Carpenter experienceMinimum 5 years of management or supervisory experienceSuperior knowledge of construction methods and techniquesKnowledge of building/construction codesMust be able to read and execute plansBe organized and detail-orientedExcellent problem-solving and time-management skillsAble to interact and communicate well with your crew, subcontractors, and the clientSkilled in using technology, including smartphones, Excel, Word, and other applications.Live in the East Bay areaPossess strong written and verbal English skillsBe punctual, loyal, and safe.
