Family & Consumer Science Teacher

Gore Public Schools is seeking a motivated and student-centered Family & Consumer Science (FACS) teacher to join our middle and high school team. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment and deliver engaging, real-world instruction that prepares students with essential life skills.Responsibilities:Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in Family & Consumer Science courses (e.g., nutrition, culinary arts, personal finance, child development, career readiness, and life skills)Create hands-on learning experiences that connect content to real-life applicationsFoster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environmentAssess student progress and provide timely feedback to support growthMaintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performanceCollaborate with colleagues, administration, and community partnersCommunicate effectively with students, parents, and staffSponsor and support student organizations such as FCCLA (if applicable)Participate in professional development and school-wide initiativesRequired Qualifications - Valid teaching certificationStrong classroom management and organizational skillsAbility to build positive relationships with students and staffEffective communication and instructional skills
