The role is highly hands-on and requires deep expertise across PLC programming, motion control, robotics integration, and electrical system design within custom automation or system integration environments.This is an opportunity to work on greenfield and low-legacy systems, owning controls architecture and delivering high-performance, production-ready automation solutions. What We’re Looking For5–10 years of experience in controls engineering within system integrators, machine builders, or custom automation environmentsStrong expertise with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000 / ControlLogix)Proven experience with motion control systems (servos, drives, coordinated motion)Hands-on experience integrating robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA)Strong background in control panel design and AutoCAD ElectricalDemonstrated experience owning projects end-to-end from design through commissioningProven ability to troubleshoot complex, integrated automation systemsExperience with industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.)What You’ll DoDesign, program, and debug complex Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI systems (Studio 5000 / ControlLogix / FactoryTalk)Develop and implement motion control systems (servo drives, multi-axis coordination, system tuning)Integrate and optimize robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB, or KUKA), including path programming and cycle time improvementsDesign and document control panel systems, including power distribution, safety circuits, and network architectureLead on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization in live production environmentsCollaborate with mechanical, electrical, and vendor teams to deliver fully integrated systemsEnsure compliance with machine safety standards (UL 508A, NFPA 79, ISO 13849)Nice to HavesExperience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)Exposure to SCADA / data systems (Ignition, FactoryTalk)What Would Someone Successful Looks Like For This Role Ability to operate independently with minimal oversightComfortable leading commissioning and startup of complex systemsStrong engineering judgment in system design, component selection, and integrationProven track record delivering reliable, high-performance automation systems
