Job Title: Business Systems Analyst (API)Duration: 12+ Months (Possible extension)Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15258 Remote Role (4 days a week)Responsibilities:Seeking a Technical Business Analyst (BA) to support a modern, REST API–driven platform.This role sits at the intersection of business, engineering, and quality, with a strong emphasis on writing clear, technically precise user stories for API based capabilities.Comfortable working with API specifications, understands how backend services interact, and can translate business requirements into developer ready stories with acceptance criteria that support build, testing, and integration.Requirements & User Story Development:Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for a REST API–based platformWrite technical user stories that clearly define API behavior, inputs, outputs, and edge casesEnsure user stories include clear acceptance criteria that support API development and testingBreak down complex workflows into consumable stories aligned with sprint planningAPI Focused Analysis:Work with architects and developers to understand API contracts, schemas, and data modelsTranslate API requirements into user stories that reference: Endpoints and methods, Request/response structures and error handling and validation rulesReview API specifications (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger) to ensure alignment with business intentEducation/Experience:Bachelor’s degree5+ years of experience with writing technical requirements and user storiesStrong experience and understanding API-focused requirementsTools: Jira, Confluence, MS Office SuitePreferred: OpenAI/Swagger
