Sr. Supervisor, Cargo

The Sr. Supervisor, Cargo oversees all air cargo activities to ensure safe, secure, compliant, and efficient handling of freight. This role manages cargo terminal operations, warehouse functions, airside coordination, regulatory compliance, and staff performance while maintaining strong relationships with airlines, freight forwarders, customs officials, and ground handling partners.QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED required; aviation-related education preferred.2 years of cargo, logistics, or airport operations experience.2 years of supervisory or management experience.Knowledge of cargo handling systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).Familiarity with international shipping documentation and customs processes.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:* Manage the day-to-day operations, primarily responsible for scheduling/staffing, managing daily budgeted hours, and limiting*Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS)Implement a safety plan for the stationMaintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to performance and safety, providing suitable corrective andpreventative actions where necessaryPerform all duties of subordinate employees when necessary.Train/retrain all personnel in airline procedures, safety procedures, and company policies.Responsible for the scheduling of all airport employees, ensuring adequate coverageMaintain good employee relations. Handle employee problems efficiently and effectivelyClient Relations Effectively communicate with senior airline management and project a positive image in responding to airlines, staff,and public inquiriesAdhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achieving company objectivesPerform other duties as requestedPERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTreat all information as confidential.Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift.Must be willing and able to work in a variety of climatic conditions to include extreme heat and cold(over 100 to below 0), including high winds, rain, ice and snow.Must be willing and able to cope with a variety of non-routine situations to include, but not limited to,early/late flights, weather and mechanical delays, passenger assistance including accommodation/re-accommodation.Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.Must be able to read, understand and carry out instructions in English.Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge.Must be able to verbally direct in English.Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration andNaturalization Service (INS).Be able to resolve problem situations with passengers when necessary.Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.Attend meetings and in-services as required.Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner.Perform quality assurance service audits as directed to conform to client's specifications and/or procedures.
