Requisition Number: 19914Contract Type: PermanentLocation(s):Chicago, IL, USEngineer, Aircraft CertificationRole Description SummaryCertification Engineer will drive key processes to obtain and retain Civil Aviation Authority (FAA,EASA,ANAC,JCAB,AFAC etc) certification approvals for the integration of SES’ In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) products into aircraft around the worldPrimary Responsibilities / Key Result AreasDevelop the following: Certification Plans, Compliance Checklist and Summary Compliance Report, Weight Change Report / Loading Manual, Airworthiness Limitations, MDL, Wire Routing Assessment, System Safety Assessment, Electrical Load Analysis, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Conformity Plan, RFC's, AMOC’s, TIA, Issue Papers, EWIS Assessment, Technical Publication Manuals,Provide overall Project Management of regulatory compliance requirements for an STCWork independently to assess, negotiate and communicate STC compliance requirements across the supporting internal groups and functionsMake and communicate key decisions internally and externally to assure appropriate actions are taken to support STC deliverablesResolve problems with a keen outlook to ensure road bumps are kept to a minimum.Be a keen team player, strong communicator, highly organised and proactive- be responsibleQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a technical aviation discipline or equivalent related FAA STC work experience.FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) a plus2+ years’ experience with FAA regulations procedures and the STC processAdvanced knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and equivalent foreign regulationsStrong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all internal levels of the organization and externally with clients.Ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Demonstrated problem solving skills.Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.Ability to forecast, anticipate problems and proactively address issues.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other project and engineering related software programs.Other Key Requirements / CommentsA drive for successCustomer focusedStrong communication organisational skillsSES and its Affiliated Companies are committed to providing fair and equal employment opportunities to all.
