Youth Programs Assistant Summer Camp Counselor

Training begins late May-early June!!FLSA Classification: NonexemptReports to: Youth Programs DirectorSummary/objectiveLead, mentor, and supervise elementary to middle school campers. Must be able to commit to the summer camp season (May 25 - August 7).Essential functionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Assists Summer Camp Counselor with group of assigned childrenSupervise and interact with children in a style to promote educationally and developmentally-stimulating programs and activitiesCommunicate with children using a style that builds relationships and promotes teamworkPromote the safety and security of all children at all timesEnsure group rotations happen smoothly and effectivelyMaintain visual presence during work shifts and be responsible for assigned areasCommunicate program policies and expectations to students and/or parents to ensure a high level of safety and service at all timesMaintain supervision appropriate to student-to-counselor ratios and always be within sight and sound of campersAssist with group/classroom managementAssist with creating and planning daily activities and actively participate in all planned activitiesEnsure assigned classroom or area is properly cleared and cleaned up at the end of the program per state licensing standardsDeliver outstanding service to our members, guests and fellow team members with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanorFollow state licensing standards (as required)RequirementsPhysical demandsMust be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shiftMust be able to physically respond in a quick manner in the event of an emergencyMust be able to fully participate in all indoor and outdoor activitiesMust be able to work professionally and calmly in an environment which may have heightened noise and stressMust be able to work in warm, humid, rainy or windy outdoor conditionsMust have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysRequired competencies, education, and experienceHigh School Diploma recommendedMust be able to commit to work the summer camp season (May 25 - August 7)Prior experience with youth programming and/or summer camp programs highly desiredPrior working experience and knowledge of state licensing standards highly desiredMust be at least 16 years oldCompany ExpectationsRead, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member HandbookPark in team member-designated areasClub cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep the club neat and cleanAssist with Service DaysAssist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your departmentPromptly return messagesExhibit a positive attitude at all timesDeliver five-star service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor at all timesAffirmative Action/EEO statementacac is an equal opportunity employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, or veteran status.Other duties
