Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionRoles And ResponsibilitiesRole Summary : The Field Engineer I performs on time and accurate Preventative Maintenance in one or more modalities of equipment. The FE1 is aware of and follows all Field Modification Instructions and/or Instrument Service Information bulletins. Works with experienced Field Engineers, both onsite and remotely, to learn troubleshooting, repair and equipment installation techniques. Responsible for driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.Key Roles And ExperiencesPerform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment with a hospital or healthcare system to ensure optimal delivery of healthcare services to patientsPerform troubleshooting and basic service repairs on customer equipmentAssist more experienced field engineers with equipment installations and more complex repairsProactively engage with other team members to ensure appropriate solution for the customerMaintain relationships with customers and ensure timely communication, resolution and proper follow up to drive customer satisfactionAdhere to company policies, procedures and hospital protocols to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met; ensuring documentation of all work performed is captured daily, including debriefing and ordering parts.Partner with the customer and/or the sales team to recommend value-added services that will help the customer run their business more efficientlyUtilize the GEHC escalation process, as needed, and work closely with region and national support to define and implement corrective action plans to resolve customer issuesQualifications/Technical RequirementsEducational and Technical RequirementsAssociate degree in related field or equivalent military education and 2 years of experience servicing electronic equipmentOr high school diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant experienceOr a graduate of the GEHC Apprentice ProgramMust have and maintain a valid Driver’s LicenseExperience with Web applications as well as Microsoft suite of productsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.Ability to be available after hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule including weekendsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfactionPreferred QualificationsTechnical capabilities in GE ModalitiesAbility to lift, carry push and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time. Ability to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
